Depart from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront at Nelson Mandela Gateway for a 30-minute ferry trip to the World Heritage site of Robben Island. A prison for 450 years for slaves, lepers and political dissidents, this historic landmark is now a museum. Once on the island you will be taken on a guided tour of the lime quarry, as well as the Prison Block where famous political prisoners such as Nelson Mandela, (Cell 5) and Tokyo Sexwala were incarcerated.

 Greenpop is a social enterprise on a mission to (re)connect people with our planet. They plant trees through urban greening and reforestation projects, spread environmental awareness and activate people through green festivals and workshops.

Half day volunteer program.

 The program is inspiring, and it not only addresses the issues of poverty but also shares the stories of some of the youth who are now at higher learning institutions, as well as those who are going. This program is led by Thulani who got an award for being one of the most inspiring youths in the world, was later sent to Harvard University, yet still works for the community.

The Zambezi Sunset cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the Spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River. Clients may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, and elephant as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The Sunset cruise is very popular and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets. Flocks of birds skim the waterline as the sun sets behind the African skyline.

Scheduled Meet the People Village tour

Clients are taken to an authentic rural village approximately 20km from Victoria Falls town where they are given the opportunity to watch local villagers going about their daily tasks. The tour enables the client to see rural life first hand; visiting rural homes, watching their fields being tended and possibly getting the chance to help in some of the day-to-day chores. Meet the village chief and learn about the way of life from him.

Guests are able to gain an insight into Zimbabwean rural life. This enables visitors to understand the cultural aspect of this life style and allows them to interact with different cultures, often for the first time.

Scheduled Chobe Day trip including lunch

Chobe National Park is well known for its large herds of elephant that frequent the Chobe River on a daily basis. In the dry season an estimate of up to 85,000 elephants can be dispersed within the Chobe National Park, where the majority of them can be found along the river. Apart from the herds of elephants, Chobe also has lots more to offer. The Park has lion, leopard, buffalo and a whole host of antelope like sable, puku, kudu, eland, roan and many others which you can get to see. The river is filled with big pods of hippos and some of the biggest crocodiles in Africa.

This tour departs daily to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Clients will be transferred to the Kazungula border where their Botswana guide will meet them. They will proceed straight to the morning cruise where they will spend the morning game viewing along the Chobe River. The cruise will end at around 12h30 and clients will go to a hotel on the riverbank for lunch. After lunch, guests will board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park. Following this they will be taken back to the Kazungula Border where they will be met by their Zimbabwean guide for their return transfer to Victoria Falls.

7:00 to 7:30 – You will be picked up from your hotel, in a closed bus, and proceed on a 70km journey through the countryside to the Kazungula border.

8:30 – Arrival at the Kazungula Border, where you will exit Zimbabwe/Zambia and enter Botswana. At the border you will change vehicles and meet your Botswana guide.

8:45 – Once you have gone through Botswana immigration, you will take a short drive to Chobe Marina Lodge.

9:00 to 9:15 – Arrival at the hotel, where you will have a short bathroom break and will also be required to fill out the Park Entry form.

9:30 – Depart on your first activity: either game drive or boat cruise. If your group would like to go on a specific activity first, then you should please specify.

12:30 – Return to the hotel for lunch. This will be served either a la carte or buffet style, with a selection of traditional and modern day meals to choose from.

1:30 – Depart for your second activity. This will be the activity which you have not done yet. If you did the boat cruise in the morning, then you will do a game drive in the afternoon and vice versa.

4:00 – Return from the Park and head back to the Kazungula Border.

4:30 – Meet your Wild Horizons bus for your transportation back to your hotel.

5:30 – Arrive at your hotel.

You will be picked up and transported to the Boma Restaurant for dinner (dinner included – drinks for own account).

Henderson Travel Service undertakes to protect clients wherever possible from cancellation fees being enforced, however, as a general rule the following conditions apply:

20% of total package price is non refundable

50% if cancelled less than 60 days prior to arrival in South Africa

100% if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival in South Africa


There is a new policy for visitors to South Africa.  For every entry into South Africa from the USA or other African countries,the visitor is required to have 2 blank pages (next to each other) in his/her passport.  Without this, entry will be denied. These must be visa pages in the passport. The amendment pages at the end of the US passport cannot be used as these are only for use by US officials. On arrival he/she must ask for a 90 day visa which will allow them to go in and out of the country on the same visa.

In addition, 1 clean page is needed for a visa or entry stamp into other African Countries. 

Passport must be valid at least six months beyond the intended period of stay in South Africa.
